I still have the Reacher season 3 sitting in my watch history. I often rewatch chunks from each episode to relive the high-level, nail-biting action that Jack Reacher brings to the screen.
That is the kind of show this is. It never quite competes for weekly attention the way this week’s other new streaming releases do.
Reacher Season 4 premiere is imminent, and we have a release date. The Alan Ritchson starrer is set to premiere on August 12, 2026, on Prime Video, with the first three episodes dropping together before the show shifts to a weekly episodic release.
Reacher Season 4 finale will drop on September 16. That date matters more than usual this time, because the franchise spinoff Neagley drops its entire first season the same day.
If you are entirely new to the Reacher franchise, Neagley (portrayed by Maria Sten) is the trusted protege of Jack Reacher who played key roles in the previous seasons of the show.
TL;DR: Reacher season 4 arrives August 12, 2026 on Prime Video, adapting Lee Child’s novel Gone Tomorrow. Alan Ritchson is the only returning series regular, joined by a mostly new cast including Sydelle Noel and Marc Blucas. The season runs eight episodes, three at launch then weekly, and closes September 16 alongside the premiere of spinoff series Neagley. There is no free way to watch it, Prime Video is the only option.
Reacher season 4 release date and episode schedule
Reacher season 4 starts August 12 with three episodes at once, then one new episode every Wednesday until the season wraps on September 16.
That structure is the same front-loaded pattern the show used for season 3, so if you watched that one, nothing here should catch you off guard. There will be eight episodes total.
I made the mistake with season 3 of assuming a weekly show meant no urgency, then caught up the morning of the finale because I forgot how fast a Wednesday comes around. This time I put the dates in my phone.
Alan shared a poster on his Instagram stating the official release dates for Reacher Season 4 and its spin-off Neagley.

Being an Alan Ritchson fan, I can’t deny the excitement and adrenaline rush that the show brings. As each episode ends, you start wondering what’s going to happen next and start building up possible theories in your mind. That’s the sign of a good show that knows how to captivate the audience.
Men’s Journal reported the confirmation came from Prime Video on June 30, alongside news that the spinoff Neagley will release all eight of its own episodes on September 16, landing on the same day as the Reacher finale. Expect a lot of on-the-edge action from both shows.
Filming ran from mid-June to November of 2025, so the gap between wrap and premiere sits close to nine months, longer than usual for the franchise, which is part of why season 4 has felt slower to arrive than the last two.
What Reacher Season 4 is actually about
Season 4 adapts Gone Tomorrow, the thirteenth book in Lee Child’s series. It opens with Reacher on a late-night New York subway noticing a woman he believes is showing every sign of a suicide bomber, tries to talk her down, and she shoots herself instead. Sounds pretty much like how a perfect Reacher season premiere should look.
To recap Season 3, it was built slowly around Reacher becoming involved with a rug business that actually deals with gun-smuggling spearheaded by Xavier Quinn, an ex-nemesis of Reacher’s.
In the upcoming season, Reacher dives into a live crisis in the first few minutes. This simply means the pacing this season should feel noticeably tighter with a steady flow. I have always felt the tightness in the plot has evolved better through each season.
No further plot details from the show itself have been confirmed publicly yet, which tracks with how tightly Prime Video has kept a lid on trailers this cycle for one of its most anticipated shows.
Reacher Season 4 cast
Alan Ritchson is the only actor confirmed to return as a series regular playing the lead. That is not new information if you have followed the show; Reacher has always treated each season as a mostly standalone story pulled from a different book, so the supporting cast resets nearly every year.
The new season adds Sydelle Noel, Marc Blucas, Kevin Weisman, Kathleen Robertson, Kevin Corrigan, and Christopher Rodriguez Marquette. Season 4 of Reacher will also feature Indonesian artist Agnez Mo and French singer Anggun portraying key roles based on Lee Child’s book.
Maria Sten, who has played Neagley in every season so far, may not return as a series regular this time. Maybe she will have a guest feature. She is anyway set to appear on her own spinoff that launches the same day the Reacher finale drops. Nick Santora remains showrunner, the same role he has held since season 1.
Where to watch Reacher Season 4?
Reacher season 4 will stream exclusively on Prime Video, and there is no free tier or workaround that gets you access.
A Prime membership runs $14.99 a month or $139 a year in the US, and Amazon offers a 30-day free trial if you have not used one before.
There is not a legitimate free live TV route for this one, and the first three seasons are already sitting on Prime Video if you want to catch up before August 12.
If your household already pays for Prime shipping, this show is effectively free the way most Prime Video originals are.
Reacher Season 4 Trailer
There is no date currently revealed for the Reacher Season 4 official trailer. Expect it around the last week of July or early August on the official Prime Video channel. There are a couple of fan-made concept trailers available, but they are, of course, not official.
The adrenaline rush with Reacher 4 only gets higher
Every time a new season of Reacher premieres, the excitement gets too hard to contain. I would resist the urge to binge all three in one sitting, even though you technically can.
The premiere episodes in each season always feel special and spike up the thrill-o-meter, which doesn’t drop until binging on all three opening episodes.
One thing is sure with Reacher. There will be mindless violence, bone-crushing action scenes, little breathing room between the episodes, and hopefully a lot of black coffee with peach pies.
Season 3 had its moments and stellar performances from the cast. Season 4 renewal will hopefully carry forward the baton and continue delivering the massive punch of entertainment the Amazon Prime show is popular for.
