Samsung’s Galaxy Fit 4 has cleared FCC testing under model number SM-R391, and the filing points to a band that looks almost identical to the Galaxy Fit 3. The one confirmed hardware change is Bluetooth 5.4, up from 5.3. Samsung has not announced the tracker, a price or a release date.
For US readers the timing matters more than the specs. The Galaxy Fit 3 launched outside the US in February 2024 and reached the US on January 9, 2025.
TL;DR: The Galaxy Fit 4 (SM-R391) cleared the FCC on August 4, 2026 with a Fit 3 look and Bluetooth 5.4. Leaked videos show black, white and light blue versions. Battery size, GPS, price and launch date are still unknown. The Fit 3 cost $59.99 when it reached the US, so a similar price is plausible but unconfirmed.
What the Galaxy Fit 4 filings actually show
Samsung’s own documents label the band FIT4, according to documentation and a rear render that Android Authority reviewed on August 4, 2026. The back panel looks like the Fit 3, apart from the new model number.
The FCC grant landed the same day. The FCC listing for ZCASMR391 shows a Samsung wearable with label exhibits named FIT4 and test reports for Bluetooth LE and classic Bluetooth, with none for Wi-Fi or NFC in the public exhibits. Gadgets & Wearables read the full filing and reports Bluetooth 5.4, plus a drawing with a central optical sensor, two charging contacts, strap release mechanisms and a physical button on the edge.
Here is how the two bands compare on what is actually known. The Fit 3 figures come from Samsung’s Galaxy Fit3 specs page.
| Spec | Galaxy Fit 3 | Galaxy Fit 4 (leaked) |
|---|---|---|
| Model number | SM-R390 | SM-R391 |
| Display | 1.6-inch AMOLED | Rectangular, size not confirmed |
| Bluetooth | 5.3 | 5.4 |
| Battery | 208mAh, up to 13 days | Capacity not listed |
| US price | $59.99 | Unknown |
Colors, sensor and what is still missing
Later leaks gave a better look. Android Authority obtained 360 degree videos showing the Fit 4 in black, white and a very light blue, and the design again looks very familiar.
Android Authority reported a Goodix GH3036 sensor module, a low-power chip for heart rate tracking. A confidential schematic in the FCC listing carries GH3036 in its file name, which fits. That is a hint from a file name, not a confirmed spec, so treat it as likely rather than settled.
Battery is the bigger blank. No capacity has surfaced anywhere yet, so nobody can say whether the Fit 3’s 208mAh cell has grown.
GPS is also open. Satellite positioning is receive-only, so the absence of a GPS test report proves nothing either way.
Two years between generations is a long gap, and a newer Bluetooth version alone is unlikely to push anyone with a working Fit 3 toward an upgrade.
When US buyers might see the Galaxy Fit 4
Samsung has set no date. Earlier reports pointed to a fall launch, and that window has now passed.
The FCC listing shows January 31, 2027 as the date the user manual, photos and test setup exhibits become public. That is a paperwork date, not a release date.
Anyone who wanted a Fit 3 in the US had to sit through almost a year of watching other regions get it first. The Fit 3 reached the US on January 9, 2025 at $59.99, according to Samsung’s US newsroom. Samsung has not said whether the Fit 4 will be sold here at all.
If it does arrive near $60, it would undercut Google’s Fitbit Air, a screenless $99.99 band, by a wide margin. The Fit 4 appears to keep a display.
The Fitbit Edge costs $179.99 and adds built-in GPS, so it plays in a different price bracket.
Who should wait and who should not
If you are choosing between the two today, the Fit 3 is the only one with a known price and spec sheet. Waiting only makes sense if Bluetooth 5.4 matters to you or if you want to see whether Samsung prices the Fit 4 the same way.
Fit 3 owners have no documented reason to upgrade yet. Battery life, GPS and price are the three answers that would change that, and none of them are in the filings.
