YouTube is adding Peacock to the YouTube Premium subscription. Google confirmed on July 27, 2026 that eligible YouTube Premium members in the US will soon get ad-supported Peacock Premium at no extra cost, an expansion of its existing partnership with NBCUniversal. The deal folds NBC’s live sports, movies, and original series into the same app people already use for ad-free YouTube and YouTube Music. It also lands about seven weeks after YouTube Premium’s own price went up in June. For anyone who paid more this summer and wondered what they got for it, this bundle is part of the answer.
TL;DR: Google is expanding its NBCUniversal partnership to give eligible YouTube Premium subscribers in the US free access to ad-supported Peacock Premium, arriving over the coming months at no extra cost. The bundle includes NFL and NBA games, Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, and Law & Order: SVU. YouTube Premium Lite subscribers are excluded, and international bundles plus a Peacock upgrade option are coming later. No specific launch date has been set.
What the YouTube Premium Peacock bundle actually includes
The YouTube Premium Peacock bundle adds ad-supported Peacock Premium on top of everything YouTube Premium already covers: ad-free YouTube, background play, offline downloads, and YouTube Music. Mary Ellen Coe, YouTube’s Chief Business Officer, wrote in the official announcement that subscribers will be able to stream NBCUniversal’s live sports, movies, and hit series without leaving the YouTube app.
Named titles include NFL and NBA games, Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, and Law & Order: SVU. A separate slice of NBCUniversal live sporting events will also stream free on the NBC Sports YouTube channel, open to anyone watching YouTube, not just Premium subscribers.
Why the timing lines up with June’s price hike
YouTube Premium’s individual plan rose from $13.99 to $15.99 a month this summer, with existing subscribers moved to the new price on June 4, 2026 after Google announced the change back in April. The increase applied whether or not anyone actually used YouTube Music, the feature bundled in alongside ad-free viewing.
Google has not linked the Peacock bundle to that price increase in its announcement, and the two are formally separate decisions. That timing will not be a coincidence for anyone who watched their bill go up two months ago and wondered what changed.
YouTube Premium was not alone this year. Tidal raised its own subscription price just weeks ago, part of a broader pattern of streaming and music services asking subscribers to pay more while looking for ways to make the increase feel worth it.
Who actually qualifies, and who gets left out
Only the full YouTube Premium plan qualifies for the Peacock bundle. YouTube Premium Lite, the cheaper tier without YouTube Music that Google introduced in February 2026, does not include it.
The Peacock access itself is the ad-supported Peacock Premium tier, not the pricier ad-free Peacock Premium Plus plan. Google says it will add an option to upgrade to a higher Peacock tier later, along with international bundles for subscribers outside the US.
Google has not set a launch date. The blog post says only that more details and official dates are coming over the coming months, which leaves subscribers checking their account settings with nothing to click yet.
How this compares to other Peacock bundles already out there
YouTube Premium is not the first subscription to fold in Peacock. 9to5Google’s Will Sattelberg noted that Apple TV has offered a two dollar a month Peacock bundle since October 2025, and Walmart+ and Instacart+ members already get Peacock included in their memberships.
| Bundle | What you get | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Premium + Peacock | Ad-supported Peacock Premium | None, coming in the next few months |
| Apple TV + Peacock | Ad-supported Peacock Premium | $2 a month since October 2025 |
| Walmart+ | Choice of Paramount+ or Peacock (ad-supported) | Included in membership |
| Instacart+ | Peacock (ad-supported) | Included in membership |
Netflix has reportedly discussed bundling Peacock directly into its own app for a similar reason, responding to an engagement problem rather than a subscriber one, according to earlier Wall Street Journal reporting.
What to actually watch for in your account
Nothing changes in the YouTube app today. When Google does turn on the Peacock bundle, expect it to show up as an add-on inside your existing YouTube Premium membership rather than as a new app to download or a new bill to track.
Check your YouTube Premium settings periodically over the next few months if the Peacock lineup, including NFL, NBA, and Saturday Night Live, is the reason you would keep the subscription. Google says specific launch dates are still coming, and until then there is nothing to activate.
