Free Netflix this weekend

Netflix just announced its "Streamfest" event that will provide users with free Netflix streaming for 48 hours. This event is only for the weekend.

Netflix and chill just got easier for everyone. How? The answer is simple! Netflix just announced its “Streamfest” event that will provide users with free Netflix streaming for 48 hours. This event is only for the weekend, which means users can stream Netflix for free from 5th to 6th December. One thing to note is that this offer is applicable only in India. This move has come after Netflix canceled its one-month free trial offer.

The OTT platform has been competing with the likes of Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar, and Sony Liv, so this move is expected to boost its sales. The offer is also easy to take advantage of, all users have to do is sign up on Netflix, and they’re set! This Streamfest does not require the users to enter their payment details. Also, there are no restrictions on the content that can be availed. However, this offer will be only available for limited consumers.

This is a kind of test of how well this offer works. If it is successful then Netflix may implement the same strategy in other countries. NetFlix COO and Chief Product Officer Greg Peters has spoken about it in some interviews and said that they hope this experiment attracts new customers. He said, “An idea we’re excited about — and we’ll see how it goes, we think that giving everyone in a country access to Netflix for free for a weekend could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories that we have.”

Netflix has thought this through so it appears this weekend might yield large returns for them. Netflix gained more than 2 million subscribers in the third quarter of 2020. The Streamfest may help Netflix keep the momentum going for the rest of the year. Only time will tell us the effects of the Streamfest. For the users, this is a treat that should not be missed.
