The user simply needs to move the phone around the object that he/she wishes to measure and that’s it!

  8. Move your phone around the object to activate the measuring activity.
  9. A series of dots will appear on the screen, which indicates that the app is ready for measurement.
  10. Move the yellow dot to the starting point of your object by moving your Android device.
  11. Once you reach the end of your object, the app shows the measurements it has read.

  13. Tap on the camera icon to save the measurements on your device’s storage.

Well, the above are the steps that you need to follow in order to measure the height, length, or width of any object using the Google Measure app. But now always the app will give you the desired or accurate results. So, it is not advisable to depend on this app wholly for accurate measurements. Here are a few tips that you can have in mind while measuring the dimensions of any object using the Google Measure app on your Android device:

  • Make sure that you are measuring the object in a well-lit area.
  • Avoid having distractions in the background of the object to avoid wrong calculations.
  • Reflections should also be avoided.
  • Always keep your Android firmware and the Google Measure app up to date.
  • Try changing angles, if the app is not able to take measurements for one particular angle.
