The Black Friday TV deals worth watching before you buy in 2026

Black Friday TV deals look dramatic on retailer banners because brands launch new televisions in spring at high list prices. By November, a 40% cut often just returns a 2026 set to its normal autumn price.

Black Friday 2026 lands on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. I started with three 65-inch sets, since that is a popular size and the easiest one to compare.

TL;DR: The 65-inch LG C6 OLED already sits at $1,399.99, so wait for $1,249 or less. Samsung’s S95H is listed around $2,300 to $2,500 and becomes a real deal near $2,099. TCL’s QM8L is already $1,078 to $1,200, so treat $999 or less as the target.

A Black Friday banner only counts if it beats the early November price. Listed prices come from LG, TCL, Best Buy and Walmart (LG, TCL and Best Buy rechecked on November 7), and the buy targets are my own thresholds, not announced promotions.

Prices move daily, so recheck the retailer page before you buy.

LG C6 OLED: Ignore the launch price

The 65-inch LG C6 launched at $2,699.99 and is already $1,399.99 on LG’s own store. That looks like a half-price bargain, but LG’s C5 fell to around $1,250 last Black Friday, according to Tom’s Guide.

LG has also been tagging the C6 with a “Black Friday Price Guaranteed” label. A $1,399 sticker in late November is therefore not a doorbuster.

The C6 uses the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. LG lists 165Hz gaming with G-Sync and FreeSync Premium, though that mode needs a PC with a graphics card that can drive it.

I would wait for $1,249 or less, roughly where the C5 ended up last year.

Samsung S95H: A good choice for bright rooms

Samsung’s 65-inch S95H pairs a QD-OLED panel with a matte Glare Free finish. That helps most if a window sits opposite the television.

It runs the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor and has four HDMI 2.1 ports that handle 4K at up to 165Hz. FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatibility are included.

The trade-off is Dolby Vision, which Samsung skips in favour of HDR10+. Dolby Vision streams usually fall back to standard HDR10 on this set.

Best Buy now lists the S95H at $2,299.99 under a Holiday Deal, against a $3,399.99 list price. I would only call it a real Black Friday deal near $2,099.

TCL QM8L: A Mini LED TV worth considering

Modern conference room with long table and wall-mounted screen.

The 65-inch TCL QM8L uses SQD-Mini LED, which TCL markets as Super Quantum Dots on a Mini LED backlight. It has a native 144Hz panel and runs Google TV.

TCL quotes up to 6,000 nits and 4,000+ dimming zones for the series. Don’t assume the 65-inch model will reach those figures.

I’d pay particular attention to the HDMI ports. All four QM8L ports are listed at 4K@144Hz, while the cheaper QM7L runs 4K@144Hz on only two of its four.

On the QM7L, the eARC port is also one of the slower ones. That is easy to miss until a soundbar and a console compete for the same input.

TCL sells the 65-inch QM8L at $1,199.99 against a $2,499.99 regular price, and Walmart has listed it at $1,077.99. I would only get excited under $999.

OLED or Mini LED?

OLED suits dark-room movie nights, because each pixel can switch off completely for deeper blacks. Mini LED suits bright living rooms, since it can push far more brightness.

If you mostly watch in the evening with the curtains drawn, lean OLED.

Should you buy a clearance 2025 TV instead?

Retailers clear 2025 stock in November, so the LG C5 and Samsung S95F deserve a look. At Labor Day, TechRadar reported the 65-inch C5 and C6 at the same $1,499.99.

My rule of thumb is that an older set must undercut the 2026 price by $200 to $300. The C5 tops out at 144Hz where the C6 lists 165Hz, a gap that mostly matters to PC gamers.

What I check before buying a TV deal

Hand holding remote toward TV with streaming interface in a modern interior.

First, I match the full model number on the checkout page, such as OLED65C6PUA. Retailers sometimes sell similar names with different specs.

Second, I read the return window, restocking fee and delivery terms. Sending a 65-inch box back is painful if the store offers no home pickup.

Third, I count how many full-speed HDMI ports remain once a soundbar is connected. Two fast ports disappear quickly with a PS5 and a gaming PC.

Finally, I think about the platform I will see every evening. LG uses webOS, Samsung uses Tizen and TCL uses Google TV, which you can debloat Google TV from your phone if the home screen starts lagging.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, and Cyber Monday follows on November 30. Some early TV price drops are already live at US retailers.

Is 40% off a 2026 TV a real Black Friday deal?

Not necessarily, because launch prices are high and drop naturally by autumn. Compare the Black Friday price with early November prices, not the crossed-out list price.

Is the LG C6 worth buying at $1,399.99?

It is a fair price, but LG has already labelled that price as a Black Friday price. Waiting for $1,249 or less is the more patient target.

Does the Samsung S95H support Dolby Vision?

No. The Samsung S95H supports HDR10 and HDR10+ instead.

Do all four HDMI ports on the TCL QM8L run 4K at 144Hz?

Yes, TCL lists all four QM8L ports at 4K@144Hz. The cheaper QM7L does this on only two of its four ports.

Which TV should you buy?

There isn’t one TV that makes sense for everyone.

The LG C6 is the one I’d watch if you mainly care about movies, contrast and gaming. At $1,249 or less, it becomes a much more attractive purchase.

The Samsung S95H is worth considering if your living room gets plenty of daylight and you want a premium QD-OLED screen. I’d prefer to see it closer to $2,099 before calling it a particularly good deal.

If you want a large screen with strong brightness without spending OLED money, the TCL QM8L is worth keeping on your list. A price below $999 would make it especially interesting.

Whatever you choose, check the exact model number, return policy and HDMI specifications before placing your order. Don’t let a big Black Friday discount banner rush you into buying a TV that was selling for the same price a few weeks earlier.
