Zoom has been the preferred mode of communication for most of us in this pandemic. The video communications platform saw a huge rise in its use since last year, and it greatly helped people work efficiently despite the circumstances. Now, Zoom has added a few new features that will make your return to work easier.

Users will be able to manage the controls of their Zoom meeting through their smartphone. Zoom is also getting a ‘Virtual Receptionist’ and a ‘Neat Sense’ tab in this new update. Apart from this, the features will ensure better device management and increase the overall functionality.

Zoom announced the arrival of the new features through a blog post that said,” With video-enabled workspaces powered by Zoom, your teams can continue to work safely and effectively from anywhere. Our Zoom Rooms, Zoom Rooms Appliances, and Zoom for Home solutions are jam-packed with features designed to support hybrid workforces and help businesses re-enter the office safely.”

Virtual Receptionist

The Virtual Receptionist will basically do what a real receptionist does. It will do tasks like greeting people through Zoom Rooms for a touch device. This will eliminate human contact, thereby making sure social distancing is followed.

Real-time people count data

With the use of cameras, users will now be able to ascertain the number of people present in the room in real-time. This will be displayed on the Zoom dashboard and Scheduling display.

Neat Sense

This feature is the most useful out of all the new features. Neat Sense enables users to consistently watch and manage the air quality, humidity, carbon dioxide levels, and Volatile Organic Compounds which include odors, scents, and organic chemicals. This data will be accessible through the Zoom dashboard.

Pairing your device with the Zoom room

Users will be able to easily pair their devices with the Zoom room through the Zoom Rooms controller app on their phone. With the help of Companion mode, users will be able to access and control audio, video, and other settings.

Sharing a whiteboard made easier

Users will be able to share Zoom’s whiteboard via Zoom chat or email. This will help increase productivity and improve communication.

Zoom’s new features will help users make the tough transition from working from home to returning to the office.
