Facebook: We Suspended Your Account [Fixed]

Facebook: We Suspended Your Account [Fixed]

Facebook suspends accounts when they feel suspicious of users’ activities. Activities like spamming, suspicious login attempts, using a fake profile, harassing other users, or any other illegal activity that doesn’t follow the platform’s community standards.

Users usually get the following message prompt when they try to log into their account after suspension.

“Your account has been temporarily suspended because it appears that you did not list your real name. As a reminder, Facebook requires all members to provide their real first and last names.”

Facebook suspends your account whenever it notices something suspicious. Suspending accounts is a security precaution taken by Facebook so that no further damage can be caused to your account.

Why Facebook Suspended Your Account?

These are the possible reasons why Facebook has suspended your account.

  • Logging to the Facebook account from a different location than usual.
  • Multiple failed logins in a short time.
  • No following community guidelines.
  • Using a fake name in your profile.
  • Impersonating another person.
  • Spamming other people.

Ways to Fix Facebook Suspended Your Account

You already have got the gist of why Facebook suspended your account. Let’s check out workarounds and best practices to solve the problem.

1. File an Appeal

If Facebook has suspended your account, you can file an appeal. Filing an appeal might be helpful in this scenario as Facebook reviews your suspended or disabled profile to check for a possible mistake from their side. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Visit this page to request a review for your suspended Facebook account.
  2. Enter the phone no or email address associated with the suspended account.
  3. Enter your full name.
  4. To verify your identity, upload your ID (must be acceptable) in JPEG format.
  5. Lastly, click on Send for the review process to begin.

It might take a few days to weeks for Facebook to review your account. They will notify you via email accordingly.

Note that if it has already been 30 days since Facebook suspended your account, you cannot request a review. Facebook automatically disables suspended accounts after 30 days.

Furthermore, the terms on the review page have explicitly mentioned that Facebook stores the ID (used to verify real identity) for the next 365 days to improve their algorithm that detects fake IDs. So proceed with the request as per your wish. However, if you configure the options on Identity Confirmation Settings, Facebook will delete the stored ID after 30 days of submission. Refer to the image below.

2. Ask Trusted Contacts For Help

If their system automatically suspends or disables your account, Facebook allows you to set up trusted contacts as a preventive measure. As it has already happened, you can ask for the recovery code from one of your trusted contacts to get back to your account. It is self-evident that you should have already assigned people such as your friends as your trusted contacts to use this method.

Below I’ll show you how to add a trusted contact on Facebook and how to ask them for a recovery code.

Steps To Add Trusted Contacts on Facebook:

  1. Go to Security and login into your Facebook account.
  2. Under the Setting up extra security header, select Choose 3 to 5 friends to contact if you are locked out.
  3. A prompt will appear. Click Choose Trusted Contacts.

Now, select the friends who can securely help if you ever have trouble accessing your account.

Steps To Ask for a Recovery Code From Your Trusted Contacts:

  1. Head to the Forgotten account page.
  2. Search your account by entering your full name, email address, phone no, or username.
  3. Once your suspended account appears, click No longer have access to these?.
  4. Enter a new email address, or phone no that you have access to.
  5. Click Reveal my trusted contacts. Type the full name to proceed.
  6. Now, you’ll get the special link that you have to send to your friend.
  7. Once your friend opens the link, he’ll get the recovery code.
  8. Ask your friend to send the recovery code to you.

Now use the recovery code to recover your suspended Facebook account.

3. Recover Your Account Using Other User’s Account

You can also recover a Facebook account using your friend’s or family member’s account. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Go to your profile using your friend’s or family member’s Facebook account.
  2. Click the three horizontal dots icon below the cover photo.
  3. Select Find support or report profile.
  4. Now, choose Something else. Tap Next to proceed.
  5. Finally, tap Recover this account.

Now follow the further instructions to recover your Facebook account successfully.

Wrapping it up: So these are the methods to solve the “Facebook: We Suspended Your Account” issue. The social media giant might have mistakenly suspended your account, but it is still possible to get your account back. To recover the account, you can file an appeal, ask trusted contacts for a recovery code, or use one of your friend’s or family member’s accounts. Also, make sure to follow Facebook Community Guidelines to prevent future account suspensions.

  • Same bro, all I do on Facebook is sell my stuff on Facebook marketplace, and it suspends me all the time and doesn’t give me any reason or any help on how to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Facebook has the worst customer service ever, and it’s probably because they don’t have any
